Post No. 070: The Proverbial Labyrinth Of The Hero's Path Is Thoroughly Known

(Image from The Quantum Revolution)

The Proverbial Labyrinth Of The
Hero's Path Is Thoroughly Known

The proverbial labyrinth of the Hero's Path is thoroughly known; however, the proverbial labyrinth of the Hero's Path is not necessarily known by you!

-Paul Whiting
(a.k.a., Poet, Artist and Philosopher)
"I am the poet who thinks that he knows it!"

-------------------------------------------------------------------

My Writing About Joseph Campbell's Quote From His Book 'The Hero With A Thousand Faces' Regarding The Labyrinth Being Thoroughly Known:

The labyrinth is thoroughly known... –Joseph Campbell, a partial quote from "The Hero with a Thousand Faces" (first published in 1949)

The proverbial labyrinth of the Hero's Path is thoroughly known; however, the proverbial labyrinth of the Hero's Path is not necessarily known by you! –Paul Whiting (written March 15th, 2015, revised January 25th, 2022, revised September 17th, 2022, revised June 12th, 2023 and revised June 13th, 2023)

-------------------------------------------------------------------

"Joseph Campbell, The Hero with a Thousand Faces (1949)" from Wikiquote:

"Centuries of husbandry, decades of diligent culling, the work of numerous hearts and hands, have gone into the hackling, sorting, and spinning of this tightly twisted yarn. Furthermore, we have not even to risk the adventure alone; for the heroes of all time have gone before us; the labyrinth is thoroughly known; we have only to follow the thread of the hero-path. And where we had thought to find an abomination, we shall find a god ... where we had thought to travel outward, we shall come to the center of our own existence; and where we had thought to be alone, we shall be with all the world." –Joseph Campbell, from the book "The Hero with a Thousand Faces"

https://en.m.wikiquote.org/wiki/Joseph_Campbell

-------------------------------------------------------------------

"The Hero with a Thousand Faces" from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia—which is funded primarily through donations from millions of individuals around the world, including this blogger (I make a totally affordable one-time donation if they are requesting donations when I am on their website):

"The Hero with a Thousand Faces (first published in 1949) is a work of comparative mythology by Joseph Campbell, in which the author discusses his theory of the mythological structure of the journey of the archetypal hero found in world myths.

Since the publication of The Hero with a Thousand Faces, Campbell's theory has been consciously applied by a wide variety of modern writers and artists. Filmmaker George Lucas acknowledged Campbell's theory in mythology, and its influence on the Star Wars films..."

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hero_with_a_Thousand_Faces

-------------------------------------------------------------------

My Philosophical Notes:

The reason that I wrote this prose can be summed up with the following statement: The proverbial labyrinth of the Hero's Path is thoroughly known; however, the proverbial labyrinth of the Hero's Path is not necessarily known by you!

By the way the quote above, by American Professor Joseph Campbell, which includes the phrase that inspired this post,"the labyrinth is thoroughly known," is from his transformative book "The Hero with a Thousand Faces."

It is one of my all-time favorite quotes.

And, when I was younger (this was in Salt Lake City, Utah), I was quite literally transformed when I read that passage about the hero's path, and how "the labyrinth is thoroughly known," and most specifically the following part of the quote:

"And where we had thought to find an abomination, we shall find a god ... where we had thought to travel outward, we shall come to the center of our own existence; and where we had thought to be alone, we shall be with all the world." –Joseph Campbell

Thus, as a young "Poet, Artist and Philosopher," I was so moved by that quote from "The Hero with a Thousand Faces" that it informed my life—along with the many wise words I have read from many other wise authors!

Now, in the quotation above of Joseph Campbell's writing, you might notice that there are three periods within the portion of the quote "and where we had thought to find an abomination, we shall find a god ... where we had thought to travel outward, we shall come to the center of our own existence," which clearly indicates that there is something more to that quote that I didn't quote! And the reason for this editorial omission has to do with the content of that portion of Joseph Campbell's writing from "The Hero with a Thousand Faces", which states the following:

"...where we had thought to slay another, we shall slay ourselves..."

You see, the reason I did not include that portion of Joseph Campbell's writing in the quote above is because it seems to be saying, "rather than killing someone else, you'll be killing yourself." However, I interpret the phrase "where we had thought to slay another" as a reference to realizing that "slaying another" is the wrong path on the Hero's Journey! In addition to that, I also interpret the phrase "we shall slay ourselves" as a reference to realizing that it is OUR OWN EGO that needs to be destroyed, then recreated anew, on the Hero's Journey and not someone else's ego! Thus, at the first part of our Hero's Journey, we may have mistakenly thought that we were going to be destroying someone else's egomania, rather than destroying—and then healing—our own egomania...

...And so, here is the complete, and for me transformational, quote from Joseph Campbell's life-changing book, "The Hero with a Thousand Faces":

"Centuries of husbandry, decades of diligent culling, the work of numerous hearts and hands, have gone into the hackling, sorting, and spinning of this tightly twisted yarn. Furthermore, we have not even to risk the adventure alone; for the heroes of all time have gone before us; the labyrinth is thoroughly known; we have only to follow the thread of the hero-path. And where we had thought to find an abomination, we shall find a god; where we had thought to slay another, we shall slay ourselves; where we had thought to travel outward, we shall come to the center of our own existence; and where we had thought to be alone, we shall be with all the world." –Joseph Campbell

Just so you know, I revised this prose, as I often do with my writing! And I changed how this prose was written when I was editing it on my "Poet, Artist and Philosopher" and "Paul Whiting — A Creative Writer" blogs. So, I wanted to show you how this prose used to be written, before I rewrote it as above.

And it used to be written like this:

The Labyrinth Is Thoroughly Known

The labyrinth is simply not known by you—as of yet!

---------------------------------------------

And then I revised it to be written like this:

The Proverbial Labyrinth Is Thoroughly Known

The proverbial labyrinth is simply not known by you—as of yet!

---------------------------------------------

And then I revised it, again, to be written like this:

The Labyrinth Of The Hero's Path Is Thoroughly Known

The labyrinth of the Hero's Path is simply not known by you—as of yet!

---------------------------------------------

And, thus, I finally revised it to be written as it is above.

And this prose was also published on my "Paul Whiting — A Creative Writer" blog (please see the hyperlink below for the blog), since I feel that the message in this prose applies to the message that I am trying to convey through "Paul Whiting — A Creative Writer."

This prose was written in Portland, Oregon.

Post No. 069: Shamanic Seeing — "The Refried Beans Chicken!"‏

Shamanic Seeing — "The
Refried Beans Chicken!"

Beans, beans the magical legume!
The more beans you eat,
the less meat you consume!
The more beans you consume,
the better you feel!
So, let's have beans for every meal!

The image illustrating this "Shamanic Seeing" post is from a can of refried beans that I opened! And I noticed there was a design that looked to me like a chicken in a sort of 'abstract' way and, hence, the title of this post!

My Writing About Beans The Magical Legume: Beans, beans the magical legume! The more beans you eat, the less meat you consume! The more beans you consume, the better you feel! So, let's have beans for every meal! –Paul Whiting (written March 14th, 2015 and revised December 2nd, 2022)

My Philosophical Notes:

The reason that I wrote this poem (with prose) can be summed up with the following statement: "Shamanic Seeing" is basically the same thing as the Rorschach test in that you are "seeing" what's in your subconscious mind!

In other words, it's just like when you were a child and you saw "a monster in your closet" at night, rather than seeing that "the monster" was simply the contents of your closet in the dark.

Thus, "Seeing Shamanically" is essentially the same thing: it is simply seeing a pattern in something abstract like patterns in processed foods—and having that mean something to you a metaphorical way—as it represents some part of your subconscious mind.

And this poem (with prose) was also published on my "Paul Whiting — A Creative Writer" blog (please see the hyperlink below for the blog), since I feel that the message in this poem (with prose) applies to the message that I am trying to convey through "Paul Whiting — A Creative Writer."

This poem (with prose) was written in Portland, Oregon.

Post No. 065: Birthdays Are A Time To Celebrate Accomplishments

(Image from Tancap)

Birthdays Are A Time To
Celebrate Accomplishments!

Today is my birthday...

...And yesterday, I was perusing through my streaming music service, and I realized that there were no birthday songs available with my name, so, I started wondering about the reason behind only celebrating the anniversary of the day that we were born, rather than celebrating what we have accomplished on the anniversary of the day that we were born...

...What I mean by that is this: just because you are one year older, does not really say anything about who you are—or what you have accomplished—now that you are one year older. Therefore, I feel that birthdays are a time to celebrate accomplishments on the anniversary of being one year older, and not simply a time to only celebrate being one year older!

Post No. 061: A Few Chosen Words About "God's Chosen People"

(Image from Learn Religion)

WARNING: THIS POST HAS CONTENT THAT MAY BE DISTURBING TO SOME READERS. VIEWER DISCRETION IS ADVISED!

A Few Chosen Words About
"God's Chosen People"

All people are 'God's Chosen People'... In fact, everything in life—from The Sacred to The Profane—is chosen by God! Otherwise, it would not exist.

Now, what of Karma?

Why would God ever choose 'The Profane' and not simply choose 'The Sacred?'

Why? Karma!

Because, that which used to be 'Profane' can become 'Sacred'—through The Power Of Karmic Change—when 'The Profane' realizes that it needs to change and that it needs to invert itself into 'The Sacred!'

For, when that which used to be 'Profane' is at the receiving end of its own profanity—and is offended by that profanity—'The Profane' can then choose to become 'Sacred' in rebellion away from its own profanity through The Power Of Karmic Change.

By the way, The Power Of Karmic Change happens over many, many lifetimes through reincarnation; which is why God knows that, in other lifetimes, 'The Profane' has created Karmic Debt!

And God also knows when 'The Profane' is paying off its Karmic Debt by becoming 'The Sacred'—because it is willing to engage in The Process Of Karmic Change—and, thus, God knows when 'The Profane' is no longer choosing to be profane through Karmic Change and is choosing, instead, to be 'Sacred.'

Therefore, that is why God chooses 'The Sacred' and 'The Profane' because of the possibility for Karmic Change.

For, in the same way that God has more than one name by which God may be called—such as God, or Goddess, or Ultimate Creator, or Unmoved Mover, or All Things Unto Oneself, or The One, or The Saviour Of All Humankind, or That Which Rises In The East And Sets In The West, or The Truest Truth Seeker, etc.—God has more than one true religion!

Plus, the very same thing can be said regarding God's Many Varieties Of Life, which cannot be contained within only one true species!

So, in the same way that you expect God to provide you with Great Varieties Of Life through many different species within God's Creation, God expects you to understand the Great Varieties Of God's Truth contained within more than one of God's Great Varieties Of True Religion!

And because religion can only be created by God through God's Very Imperfect Instrument Of Human Understanding, there are also many untruths contained within each and every one of God's Many True Religions!

Therefore, it is your job to find the Truth Of God wherever it may exist within God's True Religions, just as much as it your your job to find the Untruths Of Human Misunderstanding wherever they may exist within God's True Religions!

Thus, it is necessary for you to find The Truth Of God wherever it may exist—just as much as it is necessary for you to find the Untruths Of Human Misunderstanding wherever they may exist—as contained within the Great Variety Of God's Many True Religions! Amen!

My Philosophical Notes:

The reason that I wrote this prose can be summed up with the following statement: "All people are God's Chosen People... In fact, everything in life—from the sacred to the profane—is chosen by God! Otherwise, it would not exist."

And this prose was only published on my "Poet, Artist and Philosopher" blog.

This prose was written in Portland, Oregon.

Post No. 060: My New Year's Resolution for 2015

(Image from YouTube)

My New Year's Resolution for 2015:
"There is Nothin' Like a D.A.M.E."

My New Year's Resolution for 2015 is musically themed as "There is Nothin' Like a D.A.M.E.," with the acronym 'D.A.M.E.' representing the following:

1. Debt Elimination
2. Activist Sabbatical
3. Music Appreciation
4. Exercise Routine Emotional Development

Debt Elimination: I am working on being out of credit card debt by the end of 2015, so that the money I am spending on minimum payments and interest each month can be spent elsewhere!

Activist Sabbatical: After the 2014 "Koch Brothers' Midterm Elections" (and now that "We, The People" virtually live in "The United States of the One Percent"), the wind has gone out of my proverbial sails, and I am taking an "Activist Sabbatical" for the foreseeable future!

Music Appreciation: While I am not being an "Online Activist," during My Activist Sabbatical, I am going to recharge my proverbial batteries by listening to the all of music that I wish!

Exercise Routine: I am getting older by the minute... And I can tell by how inflexible I am that I need to create a regular exercise routine, such as yoga, in order to prevent being completely immobile when I am older!

Emotional Development: Before I can even think about starting a new Exercise Routine, I realized today (January 31st, 2015) that I have some Emotional Development issues that I need to work on!

[October 28th, 2019 Update, Written On January 23rd, 2022: After October 28th, 2019, I decided to stop taking public transportation in order to get around... So, I started to walk everywhere I go in order to transport myself—and as a way for me to exercise at the same time! However, I am limited as to how far I can travel, since I can only walk about a total of three to four miles in one direction. And so, I have been walking everywhere I go, ever since October 28th, 2019.]

My Philosophical Notes:

The reason that I wrote this prose can be summed up with the following statement: I wrote this prose because I am carrying over My New Year's Resolutions from 2013 and 2014, which focused on 'Conscious Consumerism,' but I am now working on Debt Elimination, an Activist Sabbatical, Music Appreciation and Exercise Routine Emotional Development ("D.A.M.E.") now that the 2014 "Koch Brothers' Midterm Elections" are over and "We, The People" virtually live in "The United States of the One Percent!"

Also, I will provide an update in 2016—along with updates provided during the year—of my year-long efforts in 2015 with "D.A.M.E." (Debt Elimination, Activist Sabbatical, Music Appreciation Exercise Routine Emotional Development) in My New Year's Resolution 2015 Update, all of which can be found below.

April 24th, 2015 Update: I bought an exercise outfit and fanny pack to go along with my new shoes in order to encourage myself to exercise on a regular basis.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

June 21st, 2015 Update: I finally took my exercise outfit, shoes and fanny pack for a test run (or, a test walk). And I decided to only exercise if I am in the mood and to only exercise until I got tired. Thus, I plan to only exercise, in the beginning of this process, when I am in the mood, and for as long as it feels right, because I am trying to make exercising something that I enjoy!

-------------------------------------------------------------------

November 20th, 2015 Update: I am proud to report that I successfully eliminated my entire credit card debt at the first part of this month, which is "a good thing" (as Martha Stewart would say), since I can spend the money that I was spending on minimum payments and interest on other things, such a buying vegan foods and also making donations for political causes, as well as for charitable causes!

-------------------------------------------------------------------

My New Year's Resolution 2015 Update (which was written sometime after January 1st, 2016):

It's 2016 and—as I mentioned above—I spent the year working on Debt Elimination, an Activist Sabbatical, Music Appreciation and Exercise Routine Emotional Development ("D.A.M.E."). And I am pleased to report that I am totally credit card debt free as of January 2016!

[January 23rd, 2022 Update: I was editing this post and I decided to research why I had become debt free twice, according to this blog post: first in November of 2015 and again in January of 2016, which is confusing! So, I checked my monthly budget archives and found out that I made one credit card purchase in December 2015, right after I had eliminated all of my credit card debt at the first part of November 2015. Therefore, I paid off that small purchase when I made my credit card payment in January of 2016, which is why it looks like I got totally out of credit card debt two times!]

By the way, I still owe my dad for the furniture that he bought for me when I moved to Oregon from Utah—for the second time—and I plan to repay him as soon as I am able to do so... [Update: I was able to repay my dad for about half of what I still owed him, before he passed away on February 18th, 2018.]

And my New Year's Resolution for 2016 is a continuation of my New Year's Resolution from 2015, since I am finding out that my musically themed New Year's Resolution "There is Nothin' Like a D.A.M.E." (which I have updated to stand for Debt Prevention, Activist Return, Music Appreciation and Exercise Routine Emotional Development) is taking longer than just one year!

Speaking of emotional development, I also decided to become vegan again, sometime before the end of March 2015, and I am feeling much better about my food choices, plus I am feeling much better overall. You see, I became vegan the first time in 1999, right before I moved here to Portland, Oregon from Salt Lake City, Utah the first time. (I moved back to Salt Lake City, Utah from Oregon in early 2007—for about two years—and then I returned to Portland in early 2009.) So, this is actually my second time living in Oregon and also my second time being vegan!

Post No. 059: Talk About The Elephant In The Room!

(Image from Wikipedia)

Talk About The Elephant In The Room!
(Or, "My Fear Of Republican Extremists")

Sometimes, we need to "talk about the elephant in the room!" In other words, we sometimes need to talk about "a major problem or controversial issue that is obviously present but avoided as a subject for discussion because it is more comfortable to do so."

And the reason that we sometimes need to "talk about the elephant in the room" is because of our own fear.

Therefore, we sometimes need to talk about our fear in a safe, non-judgmental environment—such as with family, or friends, or in a therapeutic setting—so that we can face our fear and, thusly, we can transform and, consequently, heal the energy of our fear.

For example, I need to "talk about the elephant in the room" with regard to my fear that Republican Extremists have taken over the government of United States of America on behalf of wealthy elitists, such as the Koch Brothers (in other words, "the millionaire and billionaire classes"), who have publicly acknowledged wishing to turn America into an oligarchy!

Post No. 057: All Souls Are Required To Become "Atom-Like" In Their Thinking In Order To Be At Peace

(Image from Wikipedia)

All Souls Are Required To Become
"Atom-Like" In Their Thinking
In Order To Be At Peace
(Or, "Become 'Atom-Like' In Your Thinking")

All Souls Are Required
To Become "Atom-Like"
In Their Thinking In
Order To Be At Peace!
In Other Words, All
Souls Are Required To
Strive Toward Always
Harmoniously Balancing
Their Thinking With Regard
To Their Negative Energy,
Positive Energy And Neutral
Energy In Order To Be At Peace.

-Paul Whiting
(a.k.a., Poet, Artist and Philosopher)
"I am the poet who thinks that he knows it!"

My Writing About All Souls Becoming 'Atom-Like' In Their Thinking In Order To Be At Peace: All souls are required to become "atom-like" in their thinking in order to be at peace! In other words, all souls are required to strive toward always harmoniously balancing their thinking with regard to their negative energy, positive energy and neutral energy in order to be at peace. –Paul Whiting (written December 10th, 2014 and September 12th, 2022)

My Writing About All Souls Being Intrinsically Negative Energy: All Souls are intrinsically Negative Energy, because All Souls are Literally Nothing which is Self-Aware! And for All Souls to experience anything other than being Negative Energy, since we are Literally Nothing, we have to evolve out of being Nothing—in order to transform being intrinsically Negative Energy—by becoming Everything That Exists! –Paul Whiting (written June 18th, 2015, revised November 22nd, 2015, revised June 4th, 2022 and revised July 25th, 2022)

My Writing About What You Can Do With Your Naturally Negative Energy: There us nothing wrong with being naturally Negative Energy: it just depends on what you do with Your Negative Energy, since naturally Negative Energy is what we are as Literally Nothing! And Negative Energy is actually Positive Energy in its opposite state, because Negative Energy is 'Darkness' and Positive Energy is 'Light.' Therefore, you can invert Your Negative Energy into Positive Energy—and then you can invert Your Positive Energy into Neutral Energy—while you are turning 'Your Darkness' into 'Your Light,' as a God and/or a Goddess, by becoming Your Own Universes! –Paul Whiting (written December 3rd, 2015, revised June 4th, 2022 and revised October 3rd, 2022)

My Writing About How Matter, Or Energy, Can Neither Be Created, Nor Destroyed, It Can Only Change Form: Everything in physics is energy conversion! In other words, physics is the inversion of Literally Nothing into opposing fields of energy. That means, Nothing can invert itself into Negative Energy (or, electronics), Positive Energy (or, protons), and Neutral Energy (or, neutrons), all of which is contained within Nothing that has been converted into Suction (or, vacuum). And the reason that Nothing can do all of these wonderful things is because Nothing has Self-Awareness (or, consciousness), which is Literally Light! Thus, that light is what God is—which is what we all are—and that is why it is said that matter, or energy, can neither be created, nor destroyed, it can only change form. –Paul Whiting (written January 26th, 2023 and revised January 27th, 2023)

My Philosophical Notes:

The reason that I wrote this poem can be summed up with the following statement: "All souls are required to become 'atom-like' in their thinking in order to be at peace! My Writing About How Universes Are Life Therapy: Universes are life therapy to continually heal from being born as Literally Nothing. –Paul Whiting (written November 27th, 2014 and revised September 10th, 2022)

-------------------------------------------------------------------

My Writing About How Universes Are Like Therapeutic Motion Pictures: Universes truly are like therapeutic motion pictures (or, movies) in that Universes are representations of how we think, and feel, about being The Consciousness Of Literally Nothing, which is what we are as Gods and/or Goddesses. –Paul Whiting (written March 27th, 2015, revised September 18th, 2021, revised May 5th, 2022, revised May 6th, 2022 and revised September 10th, 2022)

-------------------------------------------------------------------

My Writing About Psychological Healing Through Professional Therapy (One Paragraph): As a self-designated 'Poet, Artist and Philosopher,' I feel an obligation to explain what I believe to be true about psychological healing through professional therapy. You see, in my lifetime I have dealt with many psychological (mental health) issues, including generalized anxiety disorder, and/or clinical depression, for which I have sought treatment through professional therapy on multiple occasions. Therefore, during those times in my life when I felt like I needed therapy, I would kind of "put my life on hold," so to speak, until I had dealt with whatever issue that was making me feel "stuck" in my life. That way, I could totally heal that particular issue—for however long that it took to heal that particular issue—and, then, I could finally get on with my life... Thankfully, I was raised in a family in which going to see a therapist was perfectly acceptable—if necessary—just like going see a medical doctor was perfectly acceptable, if necessary. Thus, our culture's beliefs regarding medical treatment of physiological (physical) issues goes something like the following: If you have the kind of injury that you can treat with a Band-Aid and some Neosporin, or if you have the kind of illness that you can treat with NyQuil and/or DayQuil, by all means do so! If, however, you have a much more severe injury—and/or if you have a much more severe illness—you go see a medical doctor, or you go to an urgent care clinic, or you go to the emergency room, so that you can heal! And our culture's beliefs regarding therapeutic (therapy) treatment of psychological (mental health) issues should basically be the same kind of thinking: So, if you are just feeling "a little down in the dumps," so to speak, you can simply talk to a family member, or a friend, or chat online with someone on a social networking site, and that takes care of the issue! If, however, you have much more severe psychological issues such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), or much more severe psychological illnesses, such as clinical depression, or suicidal thoughts, you go see a licensed therapist—like a Licensed Professional Counselor, or a Psychologist (which is a licensed therapist with a graduate degree in psychology), or a Psychiatrist (which is a licensed therapist with a graduate degree in psychology who is also a medical doctor)—or you call a crisis helpline, such as the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline (dial 988 on your telephone), so that you can heal! –Paul Whiting (written September 10th, 2022, revised October 22nd, 2023 and revised June 15th, 2024)

My Writing About How We Are All Nonexistence Working: We are all nonexistence working! And we began as nonexistence thinking, "What am I?" –Paul Whiting (written November 14, 2014, revised September 18th, 2021 and August 24th, 2022)

My Writing About Happiness Having To Be Engineered: Happiness has to be engineered, since we are Literally Nothing that is self-aware! And that is why every single, little thing has to be thought into existence by being designed, built through trial and error efforts, tested for workability, verified as effective, implemented as planned and, finally, maintained and repaired. And—if necessary—every single, little thing also has to be rethought, redesigned, rebuilt through trial and error efforts, retested for workability, reverified as effective, reimplemented as planned, and then re-maintained and re-repaired, etc... –Paul Whiting (written March 5th, 2022, revised May 31st, 2022 and revised July 25th, 2022)

My Writing About Work Being The Source Of All Happiness: The source of all happiness is doing work! –Paul Whiting (written December 2nd, 2015, revised July 7th, 2022 and revised August 24th, 2022)

My Philosophical Notes:

The reason that I wrote this poem can be summed up with the following statement: "We are all nothing working! And we all literally began as nothing thinking, 'What am I?'"

And this poem was also published on my "Paul Whiting — A Creative Writer" blog (please see the hyperlink below for the blog), since I feel that the message in this poem applies to the message that I am trying to convey through "Paul Whiting — A Creative Writer."

Post No. 053: My Commentary On Republican Extremists' War On America — "The War That Rages Is Inside"

(Image from AlterNet)

My Commentary On Republican Extremists' War On America After The 2014 Midterm Elections:

The War That Rages Is Inside
(Or, "Extremists Are At War With Themselves")

Extremists At War
With Themselves, Declare War On
Everybody Else!

-Paul Whiting
(a.k.a., Poet, Artist and Philosopher)

-------------------------------------------------------------------

My Writing About Republican Conservative Thinkers Trying To Get Rid Of Liberal Thinkers: I seriously think that Republican Conservative Thinkers are all trying to—literally—pull us back in time to the Dark Ages where they seem to exist, so that they can finally get rid of all the Liberal Thinkers! It is almost like they are trying to "marginalize everyone to death," who isn't one of their own kind, in the hopes that Jesus The Christ will finally show up for "The Rapture" and save all of them from all of the terrible people who are NOT Conservative Thinkers! –Paul Whiting (written May 2nd, 2012, revised November 24th, 2015 and revised September 7th, 2022)

-------------------------------------------------------------------

My Writing About The Republican Party's "War On America": Sometimes I truly think that the Republican Party is literally conducting a "War On America!" All they seem to want to do is disenfranchise, marginalize, get rid of—and even kill outright—anyone who is NOT one of them! –Paul Whiting (written July 23rd, 2012, revised November 21st, 2015 and revised September 7th, 2022)

-------------------------------------------------------------------

My Writing About Republicans And Lies: Way too often it seems like there are way too many Republicans who seem like they have never met a lie that they didn't like! –Paul Whiting (written September 12th, 2012 and September 7th, 2022)

-------------------------------------------------------------------

My Writing About Voter Fraud: It seems like the only criminals that we need to be concerned about committing voter fraud are the Republicans through their attempts in multiple states to enact voter suppression laws. –Paul Whiting (written September 14th, 2012 and revised September 7th, 2022)

-------------------------------------------------------------------

My Writing About The Republican War On Women's Rights: I am a gay male who is voting Democrat for President, Senate and Congress! And I approve this message. –Paul Whiting (written September 26th, 2012, revised April 14th, 2015 and revised September 7th, 2022)

-------------------------------------------------------------------

My Writing About The Reason We Are At War With Each Other: We are at war with each other, because we are at war with ourselves. –Paul Whiting (written May 10th, 2016 and revised August 19th, 2022)

-------------------------------------------------------------------

My Writing About How The Conflicts Across From Us Are The Conflicts Within Us: The conflicts that we are fighting with those who are across from us are the same conflicts that we are fighting within our own consciousness. In other words, the conflicts that are across from us are the conflicts within us. –Paul Whiting (written approximately on May 10th, 2016 and turned into 'my writing' from my notes on May 11th, 2024)

The Following Writing Is An Excerpt From My 'June 11th, 2022 Update' On My Blog Post Titled, "I Am No Longer Being An Activist In The Same Way That I Was," Which Is On My "Poet, Artist and Philosopher" Blog:

And, now, Republicans seem to be acting exactly like they are "Radical Christian Terrorists"...

...Hence, the January 6th, 2021 Capitol Attack.

(Or, it was the January 6th, *1776* "normal tourist group"; or, the insurrectionists that attacked the Capitol Complex—in order to stop the certification of Joe Biden's win—were really 'Antifa' protestors; or, they were Black Lives Matter protestors; or, they were paid actors and actresses; or, in all actuality, they were incited by "Gasp!" the FBI. Regardless, however, it was clearly 'a false flag operation' designed to make President Donald J. Trump "look bad"—like he needs any assistance doing that!)

And, speaking of the January 6th, 2021 Capitol Attack, here are some poems that I wrote regarding the 'True Patriot' event of 'legitimate political discourse,' as well as regarding the 'lack of integrity' in the 2020 Presidential Election:

"January 6th, 2021"
(A 'Not-So-Infamous' Poem)

January 6th, 2021:
A date which will
*never live in infamy.*

–Paul Whiting (written May 28th, 2021, revised June 11th, 2022 and revised June 12th, 2022)

---------------------------------------------

Republicans and 'Election Integrity'
(A Haiku Poem)

The Republican
Election Integrity:
"Them 'darkies' can't vote!"

–Paul Whiting (written June 2nd, 2021 and revised September 7th, 2022)

---------------------------------------------

"January 6, 1776"?
(A Questioning Poem)

Why, on January 6th, 2021,
were rioters, who attacked
the Capitol Complex, and who
threatened members of Congress
and Vice President Pence, told that...

..."Today is 1776"?

"Poetry is using the fewest words possible in order to describe all that is possible to describe." –Paul Whiting [June 1st, 2022]

My poems that are Haiku in their style—within which one stanza is composed of three lines, where each line has words containing five syllables, seven syllables and five syllables, respectively—are a lot more like SenryÅ« poems in that the topic of these poems is typically about people, rather than the topic of these poems being about nature, as is usually the case in classic Haiku poems. And that is why I call these types of poems "Haiku-style." –Paul Whiting [September 19th, 2023]

Post No. 052: The Problem With Cheaters

(Image from Philadelphia CityPaper)

The Problem With Cheaters

The problem with cheaters is that they desire to be successful, but with little effort on their part or, even, with no effort on their part.

Therefore, the problem with cheaters is that they desire to achieve success—with their endeavors in life—but without having to assume risk, without having to be hard working and honest, and without having to learn from their mistakes in order to do better in the future.

In other words, achieving success is attained by the process of assuming risk, by the process of being hard working and honest, and by the process of learning from mistakes in order to do better in the future, which cannot be accomplished by cheating.

My Writing About The Policy Of Honesty In The Kingdom Of God: In the Kingdom of God, honesty is not only the Best Policy, honesty is the Only Policy. –Paul Whiting (written September 29th, 2012 and revised September 12th, 2023)

My Writing About How Cheaters Are Afraid Of Their Own Vulnerability: Cheaters are afraid of their own vulnerability, which is why they won't assume risk, and that's why they cheat! –Paul Whiting (written March 27th, 2015 and revised September 1st, 2022)
